What it runs
- A house during a power shutoff: fridge, freezer, lights, internet, a well pump, one window AC
- A job-site trailer with heat or AC and the office gear
- A food truck row or a small outdoor event: sound, lights, a few vendors
- Hand tools, a small welder, a light tower or two
Not sure it is enough? Add up the loads with our sizing guide, or send us the list and we size it. A diesel run far below its rating for weeks wet-stacks, so bigger is not always safer.

Questions
How long does a 20 kW generator run on a tank?
About 43 hours at three-quarters load on its roughly 60-gallon tank (1.4 gallons an hour). At a lighter load it runs longer. For around-the-clock use we add refills or an external tank.
What does it take to tow a 20 kW generator?
It weighs about 3,000 lb with fuel and trailer — a half-ton pickup with a 2-inch ball. Most customers have it delivered; billing includes delivery and pickup.
Single-phase or three-phase?
Both. The unit switches between 120/240 V single-phase (about 83 A) and 208 V or 480 V three-phase. Your electrician sets it to match your service.
How much is a 20 kW generator rental?
From $300 a day, $750 a week or $1,700 for 4 weeks on one shift, plus delivery and fuel. You get one all-in price before you commit.
